Onboarding Guide

Welcome to Cloudfira! This guide walks you through the process from order to go-live.

1. Order Confirmation

After signing your service agreement, you'll receive:

  • Order confirmation with service details
  • Customer portal login credentials
  • Assigned project manager contact
  • Expected timeline for delivery

2. Site Survey & Planning

For physical connections, our team will:

  • Coordinate with your data center or facility
  • Confirm cross-connect details
  • Verify handoff specifications (fiber type, connector, port speed)
  • Schedule installation date

3. Technical Configuration

We'll work with you to gather technical details:

For DIA Services:

  • IP addressing requirements (IPv4/IPv6 allocation)
  • Routing preference (static or BGP)
  • VLAN configuration if applicable

For IP Transit:

  • Your ASN
  • Prefixes to announce (must be in IRR)
  • BGP session details (MD5 if required)
  • Communities for traffic engineering

For Voice Services:

  • SIP endpoint details
  • Number porting requirements
  • Codec preferences
  • Emergency service address

4. Installation & Testing

On installation day:

  • Cross-connect is activated
  • Physical layer testing (light levels, errors)
  • IP/BGP session establishment
  • Throughput testing
  • Latency and jitter verification

5. Go-Live & Handover

Once testing is complete:

  • Service declared live
  • Monitoring enabled (you'll see traffic in the portal)
  • Handover call with NOC for support procedures
  • Billing starts per contract terms
